Four Fabulous Tips to a STRESS FREE Wedding Day!

In today’s fast-paced world of dual careers, community service, graduate degrees, and just LIVING; planning a wedding can be complicated.  NEWSFLASH! It doesn't have to be! As Wedding Planners we have witnessed client stress levels soar over the budget, the bachelor party, bridesmaid drama, the guest list,  where to find the perfect napkin rings to match those Dupioni silk napkins, and every little thing in between!

CELEBRATE! After you are engaged it's so easy to immediately slip into full-planning mode. Before you run out and buy up the bridal section at Barnes & Noble – STOP – take a deep breath – look at that absolutely amazing man who just asked you to be his wife and then – give him the biggest hug ever! Say: “I love you babe,” sit back, relax and savor the beauty of the moment. Celebrate by enjoying your engagement with the person who will become your husband. And tomorrow, just before you’re about to burst – GO OUT and buy up the bridal section! You’ll feel better!

SAVVY FINANCIALS. As a Savvy Bride, you want to get all of the decision makers involved in setting the budget and sticking to it. Set up a separate checking account just for wedding expenses. Our brides receive an easy to understand excel spreadsheet with calculations for everyone to use throughout the payment process. The perfect time to start the Wedding Team interviewing process is after you establish the budget.
Your Wedding Team interviews should include all financial participants (mom, dad, groom, bride, etc.).
Who is your Wedding Team? Key team members are: Officiant, Wedding Planner, Venue, Caterer, Florist, Photographer, and Dee Jay.

BE ORGANIZED. A Bridal Bible is a must! When you start signing contracts, you will need a place to house them. Take a moment and get organized. The BB should be a 2.5”to 3” 3-ring binder with inside pockets. Create a table of contents and use dividers to keep everything in the correct category. This level of detail will help you stay on top of all of your documents and plans. Carry it with you everywhere you go.

GET CREATIVE! Make your wedding day different from the rest.  As you go through the planning process, always remember that the details of your day are limited only by your inspiration. If you're NOT creative, find inspiration in magazines and your daily life, speak to your favorite people, your mom, your girlfriend, or anyone who has a designing diva touch. Get them on board, and ask them to help you brainstorm on ways to make your wedding memorable.
