Unveiled: Anne Lowe - Society's Best Kept Secret!

Anne Cole Lowe was the designer of Jacqueline Kennedy’s wedding dress. THE most photographed wedding dress in history. If you love weddings, fashion and Jacqueline Kennedy as much as I do, it’s always a treat to learn something new about the people and industries that fuel your passion!

Ms. Lowe counted many members of America’s Social Register as her clients, including the Auchinclosses, Biddles, Posts, Roosevelts, Rockefellers and DuPonts.

This Sunday night, as I watch the 86^th Academy Awards, I will think about Ms. Lowe and the pride she must have felt in 1946 as Olivia de Havilland accepted the 18^th Academy Award for Best Actress in the gown that she designed.

Note:  The attitude of American culture at the time of the 1946 Academy Awards required that the label in the dress bear the name of Sonia Rosenberg.
